I hope you guys are having a wonderful week so far! We are halfway through the second week of school and this momma is exhausted. If you have read any of my other blogs you will know that things have been kind of crazy for our family and finally things are slowing down some. Sometimes we can get so caught up in this rat race that it takes over. I have learned these past few months that slowing down is one of the best things we can do when we feel like life is just zooming by.

It’s in those times of moving so fast that we run right by the mountain that God wants us to climb. We completely miss it! I have been there before and it’s not a great place to be. I ran by my mountain over and over until God literally had to stop me in my tracks and give me the wake up call that I needed. He brought me to a screeching halt because I was missing all that He had for myself and for my family. Remember, sometimes those mountains are not just for us but for the people who God has placed around us.

I am so tired of missing what God has for me and my family. I’m tired of running the rat race and feeling like I can never keep up with what the world says I need to be. Its time to focus on what God says I need to be and what I am. I have looked to man for approval for far too long. We will always be disappointed by man but my God will never disappoint! Gosh! Doesn’t that feel amazing? To know that our heavenly father is greater than the rat race makes the day to day so much better!

God loves us no matter the mistakes that we make. He loves us no matter what the world may say about us. He doesn’t look on the outward appearance but He sees our hearts and that’s what matters to Him.

1 Samuel and 2 Samuel are some of my favorite books to read in the Bible. Listen to these words from the Lord to Samuel; “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7) He doesn’t see or care what the world see us as! We are His children and man that’s such a great feeling!

I needed this today for myself and I hope it will help one person to see that going by the world standards will always be a disappointment. We will never be able to keep up. But knowing that our Father sees us for our heart and not for our outward appearance makes this life so worth living.

Shine His light bright friends. Let the world know that there is a God who loves them so much. Remember to keep your eyes on Him so you don’t miss the mountain He has for you to climb. It’s in those times of climbing mountains that we get even stronger and closer to God!
